Our initial brief was for the bespoke app to be centered around a 3D interactive and GPS enabled map which pin-points areas of interest in the garden. These were to automatically trigger augmented reality content, bringing to life some surprising characters and unusual features!

As well as utilising augmented reality, we were also tasked with producing a number of informative and interesting high-definition videos, and image-rich content to highlight the garden's diverse history.

What we did

Key to the design and approach to this application was making it as interactive, fun and engaging as possible whilst maintaining emphasis on increasing access to the garden’s features through ease of use.

Our team of developers and content producers paid many a visit to the garden, taking hundreds of photographs, filming hours of footage and coming up with countless ideas of how to maximize the use and effectiveness of augmented reality.

We're very proud of the final product which includes an animated introduction and personalised custom-produced video from the Duchess, a GPS-enabled 3D interactive map, and a variety of exciting augmented reality features.

This includes showing how the garden looks at different times of year and hosting animated characters who pop up and interact with you. This is all housed within a simple navigation system, while the app also highlights visitor information and has the facility to share to social media.
